The short version
- MealSpring is a planning tool. It helps you organise meals, pantry, shopping and budget.
- It is not medical, nutrition or allergy advice. Always check ingredients and labels yourself.
- Your kitchen data is yours and is stored on your phone, so keep backups if it matters to you.
- Plus and Premium renew automatically through Google Play until you cancel.
1. Agreement
By downloading or using MealSpring, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country, to use MealSpring. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use MealSpring only with the involvement of a parent or guardian, who accepts these Terms for you.
2. Your account
You need an account to use MealSpring. Give accurate sign-in details, keep your password safe, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for activity on your account.
You can delete your account at any time, as described on our Delete account page.
3. What MealSpring does
MealSpring provides tools for meal planning, recipes, pantry tracking, grocery lists, food budgets, notes and reminders. Most of these tools work on your phone using the information you enter.
Figures in the app, such as costs, savings, quantities, dates and nutrition-related labels, are estimates based on what you enter and on general recipe information. Use them as a guide, not as exact or professional figures.
Reminders rely on your phone's notification settings and may be delayed or blocked by your device, battery settings or operating system.
4. Food, health and allergies
Please read. MealSpring does not give medical, dietary or nutritional advice and cannot guarantee that a recipe or plan is free from any allergen or ingredient.
- Diets and foods to avoid that you set are used to filter and guide suggestions, but matching is based on ingredient names and may miss hidden or unlisted ingredients.
- Always read product labels and check every ingredient yourself, especially if you or anyone you cook for has an allergy, intolerance or medical condition.
- Follow safe food handling: cook food thoroughly, store it correctly, and check dates and the condition of food before eating it. Pantry dates in the app are reminders only.
- Talk to a qualified professional before making significant changes to your diet.
5. Planned-for-you content
Some features automatically generate meal plans, recipes, tips and images. Generated content can be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable, for example wrong quantities, times or temperatures. Review it with common sense before you cook, and don't rely on it where accuracy is critical.
These features have weekly limits that depend on your plan and are shown in the app. We may adjust limits or temporarily pause features to keep the service reliable and fair.
You may use generated content for your own personal, non-commercial cooking and planning.
6. Your content and backups
You keep ownership of everything you enter into MealSpring, such as recipes, notes and photos. You give us only the permission needed to process that content to provide the features you choose to use, as described in the Privacy Policy.
Because your kitchen data is stored on your phone and is not backed up by us, it can be lost if your phone is lost, reset or damaged, or if you uninstall the app or clear its data. Use Export backup regularly if your data matters to you. You are responsible for keeping backup files safe.
7. Acceptable use
Please don't:
- use MealSpring for anything unlawful, harmful or abusive;
- try to get around limits, subscriptions, security or integrity checks;
- copy, reverse engineer, resell or build a competing service from the app, except where the law allows;
- automate requests, overload our services, or interfere with other users;
- submit content that infringes someone else's rights or contains other people's personal information.
We may limit, suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.
8. Subscriptions and billing
MealSpring is free to use. Plus and Premium are optional paid subscriptions offered in the app where available.
- Prices and features: the price, billing period (monthly or yearly), features and any free trial or offer are shown before you buy. Prices may vary by country and include tax where required.
- Billing: payment is handled by Google Play under its terms and charged to your Google Play account.
- Automatic renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before renewal.
- Cancelling: cancel at any time in Google Play under Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. You keep paid features until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Free trials: if a trial is offered and you don't cancel before it ends, the paid subscription starts and you are charged.
- Refunds: refunds are handled by Google Play under its refund policy, except where the law gives you other rights.
- Price changes: we will give notice of a price change as required by Google Play and the law, and you can cancel before it applies.
- Deleting your account: MealSpring cancels an active subscription's renewal before deleting your account. Remaining paid time is forfeited and is not refunded automatically.
9. Our app and content
MealSpring, its name, logo, design, recipes, artwork and software belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to use the app for your own household. Open-source components are licensed under their own terms, listed in the app under Licences and credits.
If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without any obligation to you.
10. Other services
MealSpring relies on services such as Google Play, Google sign-in and Firebase. Your use of those services is also subject to their own terms. We aren't responsible for services we don't control.
11. Changes and ending
We may update, change or stop parts of MealSpring, for example to improve it, fix problems or follow the law. If we stop a paid feature you are subscribed to, we will tell you and handle it fairly under Google Play's rules and the law.
We may update these Terms. We'll change the effective date and, for significant changes, tell you in the app or on this site before they apply. If you keep using MealSpring after a change, the new Terms apply.
You can stop using MealSpring at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, or if we must for legal reasons.
12. Disclaimers
To the extent the law allows, MealSpring is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't promise that it will always be available, error-free, or that its estimates, suggestions or generated content will be accurate or suitable for you.
13. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, MealSpring is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for MealSpring in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50 if greater.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud, or takes away consumer rights you have under the law where you live.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Disputes will be heard by the courts of Kenya, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any problem informally.
