The short version
- Only Plus and Premium are paid. Everything else in MealSpring is free.
- If you're new to Plus or Premium, you can get a full refund within 14 days of your first payment. This refund is available once per customer.
- A renewal can be refunded within 14 days if you haven't used any planned-for-you features since it was charged.
- Duplicate or unauthorised charges, and problems we can't fix, are always refundable.
- You can cancel at any time and keep your plan until the end of the period you've paid for.
1. Who sells your subscription
Plus and Premium are sold by MealSpring ("we", "us"), the provider of the MealSpring app.
When you subscribe on our website, our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our website orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns for those orders, and your purchase is also covered by Paddle's Buyer Terms.
When you subscribe inside the Android app, the purchase is made through Google Play and Google is the seller of that transaction.
2. 14-day refund for new subscribers
If you're new to Plus or Premium, you can ask for a full refund within 14 days of your first payment, on a monthly or yearly plan. No reason is needed. This refund is available once per customer.
Once a refund is approved, that subscription ends and your paid features stop. Refunds go back to the original payment method, usually within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank or card provider.
3. Renewals
Each paid period includes weekly allowances for planned-for-you features, which cost us to provide, so renewal payments are not normally refunded.
If a renewal charged you after you meant to cancel, you can still ask for a full refund within 14 days of that renewal, as long as you haven't used any planned-for-you features since it was charged: weekly meal plans, regenerating or swapping meals, Kitchen Guide tips, recipe images or recipe ideas.
4. Always refundable
Whenever they happen, we'll refund:
- accidental duplicate payments;
- charges you didn't authorise, or that were made in error;
- a significant technical problem that stops you using the paid features, if we can't fix it in reasonable time;
- paid features that don't work substantially as described.
For a technical problem, the refund may be full or partial, depending on how long the problem lasted and how much of the period you were able to use.
5. How to ask for a refund
Bought on our website
- Find your order at paddle.net, or use the link in your Paddle receipt email, and request a refund; or
- email support@dayvityapp.com.
When you email us, please include the email address you paid with, the date of the payment or your order number, and a short explanation. We'll reply within 2 business days, and Paddle processes approved refunds.
6. Bought in the app (Google Play)
Payments made in the MealSpring Android app are handled by Google Play, so refunds also follow Google Play's refund policy.
- Within 48 hours of a charge, you can usually request a refund directly from Google Play.
- After that, email us at support@dayvityapp.com with your Google Play order number (it starts with "GPA."). The rules in sections 2 to 4 apply, and we'll refund where Google Play allows us to.
7. Cancelling
You can cancel at any time. Cancelling stops future renewals; it doesn't refund payments already made. You keep Plus or Premium until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again unless you subscribe again.
- Website: use the "Manage subscription" link in your Paddle receipt email, or paddle.net.
- App: Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → MealSpring → Cancel.
To avoid being charged for the next period, cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date.
8. Other cases
- Free trials: you aren't charged during a free trial. The first payment after a trial counts as your first payment, so the 14-day refund for new subscribers applies.
- Changing plans: moving between Plus and Premium, or between monthly and yearly, doesn't start a new first-payment refund. Paddle or Google Play works out any credit or extra charge, and an extra charge follows the renewal rules in section 3.
- Deleting your account: deleting your account doesn't refund payments automatically, so ask for any refund first. If you subscribed on our website, also cancel through Paddle, because deleting your account in the app can't cancel a website subscription.
- Misuse: we may decline a refund where we see clear signs of abuse, such as repeatedly subscribing, using the paid features and asking for a refund.
9. Your legal rights
Nothing in this policy limits or excludes rights you have under the consumer law where you live, including any mandatory refund, cancellation or withdrawal rights. Where the law gives you more than this policy, the law applies.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services, business or the law change. Updates are published here with a new effective date. A change never takes away a refund you were already entitled to for a payment made before it.
